Everything you need to file your crypto tax with SARS

Coinfig was built in South Africa, for South African crypto tax. From import to filing, every step is designed around what SARS actually expects.

Four ways to import

Live exchange connections, wallet addresses, AI exchange CSV, or universal template files — mix and match in one account. Auto-sync every six hours, merge duplicate sources, and bulk-import credentials. Data sources guide →

Start free, pay to file

The workspace is free forever: connect everything, review transactions, and export portfolio CSVs. Licence a tax year at R2,000 for filing-ready PDFs, tax working papers, and your Data Completeness Score. Free vs paid →

Import from anything

Connect 14 live API exchanges (VALR, Luno, Cape Crypto, ChainEX, Xago, Kraken, Binance, AltcoinTrader and more), 21 blockchain networks by wallet address, and raw exchange CSVs via our AI importer (40+ formats). How AI CSV import works → · All 21 networks →

Built for South Africa, not bolted on

Coinfig applies the FIFO bundle method SARS expects, classifies each disposal as capital or revenue, and treats staking and rewards as income at their rand value on receipt. The output maps to SARS codes and the IT3(c) declaration.

The Data Completeness Score

Most tools quietly produce a number even when data is missing. Coinfig scores how complete your history is — flagging exchange retention gaps (Binance, KuCoin and Bybit limit how far back they go) before you file. Unlocks with your tax-year licence. How the score works →

Tax reports & exports

Eight export types: Tax PDF, Audit PDF (14 sections), Complete Tax Bundle ZIP, Custom Report, plus FIFO, per-asset, income and ledger CSVs. See all report types →

Transaction review

Search, filter and correct every transaction. Bulk classification, edit history with rollback, and transfer matching so internal moves are not misread as disposals. Review workflow →

Rand-accurate pricing

Every transaction is priced using historical market data, including crypto-to-crypto trades that never touched fiat. That keeps both your gains and your base cost defensible.

Multi-currency display

View dashboards and exports in rand, US dollars, euros, or British pounds. SARS classification stays the same — amounts are re-priced into your chosen currency. Multi-currency reporting →

Automatic exchange sync

Connected exchanges re-sync every six hours — plus manual sync anytime. Your dashboard updates as new trades land, so you are not re-uploading at year end.

Accountant workspace

Multi-client workspace with per-client isolation, POPIA consent logging, Historical Balance, Balances by Source, and live Xero draft journals. Practice tools → · For accountants →

Xero integration

Connect via OAuth, provision crypto accounts 940–948, preview monthly FIFO journals, and post as DRAFT for partner review — not a manual CSV handoff. Xero setup guide →

Why it matters

A crypto tax report is only as good as the data behind it. Coinfig’s edge is provenance: read your real history from every source, price it correctly in rand, tell you honestly how complete it is, and give you the reports and working papers to defend it. That is the difference between a number and an audit-ready return.
