Free through a trusted partner

The Coinfig free plan comes through a trusted partner. If you reached Coinfig through one of our partners, they connect and keep one account in sync for you, and your free plan covers up to 100 transactions with the full tax report for every tax year. No credit card, and nothing to configure.

How you get the free plan

We give the free plan to people who come to Coinfig through a partner we have an arrangement with. The partner hands us a clean, first-party feed of your trading history and keeps it in sync, so we can produce a report we trust without any reconciliation work. That is why the free plan is tied to a partner sign-in rather than being open to everyone. Creating an account on your own, or plugging in your own connection, does not qualify. If you are not sure whether you came through a partner, sign in and your plan will say.

What the free plan includes, when a trusted partner brought you to Coinfig

  • One account, connected and kept in sync automatically by your partner
  • Up to 100 transactions in total on that partner-connected account
  • Full Tax Report (capital gains and income summary) for every tax year, including the current one, on that partner-connected account
  • Data Completeness Score with gap advisories, so you see how complete your history is before you file
  • Dashboard and overview of your calculated position
  • Transaction history with full search, filters and editing
  • Balances per source
  • All preferences, including cost-basis method and base currency
  • No credit card required

What the free plan does not include

  • Other report types, including the Audit Report, Custom Report and Complete Tax Bundle
  • Raw transaction data exports
  • An accountant link
  • The Xero export
  • Ring-fencing sources into separate pools

When to move to a paid plan

Move to a paid plan when the free plan does not fit your setup, which usually means more than one source, more than 100 transactions, or a history that has to come from CSV files and wallet addresses. Starter (R190/year, or $15/year outside South Africa) works with any import method and covers up to 1,000 transactions across up to 5 sources, and adds raw transaction data exports. Advanced (R2,500/year, or $139/year) removes the data limits entirely and adds every report type, the accountant link, the Xero export, ring-fenced source pools and priority support with calls answered. The tax report itself is the same report on every plan. See all report types or full pricing.

Frequently asked

How do I qualify for the free plan?
By coming to Coinfig through a trusted partner and signing in the way they set up for you. The partner connects one account and keeps it in sync, and the free plan applies to that account for up to 100 transactions. A plain sign-up, or a connection you add yourself, does not qualify.
What are the free-plan limits?
One auto-synced partner account and up to 100 transactions in total. The full tax report is included for every tax year inside those limits. Add a second source or go past 100 transactions and the report locks until you move to a paid plan or bring the data back inside the limits. Starter (R190/year) covers up to 1,000 transactions across up to 5 sources on any import method. Advanced (R2,500/year) removes the limits entirely.
Can I prepare now and upgrade later?
Yes. You can connect your sources, close data gaps and check your calculated position first, then pick a plan once you know what your history needs. Upgrading mid-year charges only the pro-rata difference.
I am already paying for Coinfig. Do these limits apply to me?
No. If your paid subscription is active, you keep the price and the data limits you bought. The limits above apply to new purchases and to upgrades. See the terms.
Do accountants use this plan?
No. The accountant workspace itself is free for the practice, but linking to a client needs that client portfolio on Advanced, paid by the client or by the practice on their behalf. An accountant needs a personal plan only for their own taxes. See Coinfig for accountants.
