Coinbase tax FAQ

Does Coinfig generate a Coinbase tax report?
Yes. Connect Coinbase with a read-only API key and Coinfig produces a filing-ready crypto tax report from your full history.
Is the Coinbase connection read-only?
Yes. Coinfig only requests view scopes for accounts and transactions — it can never move your funds.
Does Coinbase report to SARS?
No. Coinbase is a US-based exchange and does not report to SARS. You must declare your gains yourself. This is not tax advice.
Does Coinfig support Coinbase rewards?
Yes. Coinbase Earn and staking rewards are imported as income valued on the date received.
Can I import a Coinbase CSV?
Yes. You can upload Coinbase’s transaction history CSV if you prefer not to connect via API.
