VALR tax FAQ

Is the VALR API connection safe?
Yes. Coinfig only requests read-only API keys, so it can never trade or withdraw from your account. Your secret is encrypted at rest.
Does Coinfig support VALR for SARS tax reports?
Yes. Coinfig classifies your VALR trades for South African tax and produces a filing-ready capital gains and income summary.
Does VALR report to SARS?
VALR is a South African registered exchange and, under the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework effective 1 March 2026, SA platforms increasingly share account data with SARS. File a complete return; this is not tax advice.
Can I import VALR history with a CSV instead?
Yes. If you prefer not to use the API, export your transaction history from VALR and upload the CSV file to Coinfig.
How far back does the VALR sync go?
The API syncs your full available trade history. For accounts older than a few years, a CSV export can fill any gaps.
