Tiered plans launch

Free tax reports for everyone — new Free, Starter and Pro plans

Shipped 16 July 2026: the full filing-ready tax report moved onto every plan, with Starter (R190/yr, 1,000 transactions) and Pro (R1,500/yr, unlimited) lifting data-volume limits, plus USD card billing outside South Africa. The plans described here have since been replaced, see the 18 August 2026 release note and the pricing guide for the current model.

Highlights

  • The report moved onto every plan

At this release the complete filing-ready Tax Report PDF, schedules, and Data Completeness Score were included even on the free plan, up to 1 source and 100 transactions, no card required. Free-plan report access has since changed, see the update note in this release.

  • Starter and Pro lift the data limits

Starter (R190/year) covers unlimited sources and up to 1,000 transactions. Pro (R1,500/year) removes the transaction limit and adds priority support. Subscribers who already paid keep full access to the tax years they paid for. We are not retroactively capping years you have already purchased.

  • USD card billing outside South Africa

Non-South-African users now check out in US dollars by card via Stripe ($15/year Starter, $99/year Pro). South African users continue to pay in rand through PayFast, with card and EFT.

  • Pro-rata mid-year upgrades

Upgrade from Starter to Pro at any point in the year and you only pay the pro-rata difference for the remainder of the period; renewals bill at the new tier.

  • Sample reports on the website

coinfig.tax now shows complete, watermarked sample reports generated from a synthetic account — pick a jurisdiction and open the exact PDF you would receive, before creating an account.

  • Help Centre improvements

The Help Centre is now linked throughout coinfig.tax, its pricing content reflects the new plans, and readers outside South Africa see a dismissible pointer to the country guide relevant to them.

Update, 18 August 2026. The plans described below have been replaced. Coinfig now has Free (through a trusted partner), Starter at R190/year and Advanced at R2,500/year. If you subscribed under the plans described here and your subscription is still active, you keep the price and the limits you bought. See the 18 August 2026 release note and the pricing guide for the current model.

What shipped

The biggest change to Coinfig since launch: the tax report moved out from behind the paywall. From this release every plan, including the free one, generated the complete filing-ready Tax Report PDF, the supporting schedules, and the Data Completeness Score.

Plans now scale by data volume instead:

  • Free — R0 forever. One source (exchange, wallet or CSV), up to 100 transactions, and the full report.
  • Starter — R190/year (or $15/year outside South Africa). Unlimited sources, up to 1,000 transactions across all of them.
  • Pro — R1,500/year (or $99/year). Unlimited transactions and priority email support.

When your history outgrows your plan's allowance, report generation and exports pause until you upgrade or trim back within your allowance. Your portfolio, dashboard and completeness review stay fully visible, and at this release reports were included within every plan's allowance. Subscribers who already paid keep full access to the tax years they paid for. We are not retroactively capping years you have already purchased.

Billing changes

South African users continue to pay in rand through PayFast (card and EFT). Users outside South Africa are now billed in US dollars by card via Stripe. Upgrading mid-year charges only the pro-rata difference for the remainder of your billing period, and renewals bill at the new tier automatically.

See the report before you sign up

coinfig.tax now includes complete sample reports generated from a synthetic account — one per supported report jurisdiction — so you can open the exact 20+ page PDF you would receive before creating an account. Every page of a sample carries a SAMPLE watermark; the data is synthetic and for illustration only.

Help Centre

This Help Centre is now linked from coinfig.tax (navigation, a dedicated section, and the footer), the pricing guide reflects the new plans, and readers outside South Africa get a dismissible pointer to the country guide most relevant to them.

Also in this release

  • The Data Completeness Score and completeness review are open on every plan.
  • Report PDF polish, including a table-of-contents rendering fix.
